Monad Community Bytes🎉

BSSFRSAC24 (5)

Howdy! Welcome to the May edition of Monad Community Bytes. We had a blast connecting with many of you and the broader community at BSides San Francisco and RSA. While the collective focus has shifted to AI, our conversations confirmed that security teams are still grappling with fundamental challenges, particularly in managing their security data effectively and making the most for security gains.

Through over 100 discussions, we verified that security teams continue to face difficulties in extracting, normalizing, and enriching logs and security data from their point solutions and integrating them into SIEMs, data warehouses, or other data storage systems. Monad was founded to solve this exact prob.

Whether you are currently building these capabilities in-house or are interested in learning how we can help free up your security team's resources, we encourage you to reach out to us for a chat here: community@monad.com

What Is A Cybersecurity Mesh Architecture?

There's recently been lots of talk about making the security industry more ✨ data-driven ✨, but what exactly does this mean? If you're reading this email then you're probably already familiar with concepts like ETL and data fabrics, but have you heard of "Cybersecurity Mesh Architecture" (CSMA)?

In this post, John Morello, CTO at Gutsy, explains that robust ETL processes form the foundation of CSMA, enabling the connection of disparate signals across an enterprise's tech estate.

While implementing a full-fledged CSMA may be out of reach for many organizations, teams can still adapt its foundational principles to enhance their security practices. By focusing on strengthening ETL processes, improving data integration, and integrating security tools and systems, teams can take incremental steps towards a more data-driven approach.

Check out the post to learn about the core concepts behind CSMA!
